Blair' Story

I was born with a Single Ventricle Heart Condition. I spent 25 years fighting to live when I got the most horrible news ever. At the age of 25 (just last year) I had to have a heart transplant. I was showing signs of heart failure and was being told (since I was 16 yrs. old) that I was stressed. On feburuary 25 of this year I got my new heart. Our family has always donated to the American Heart Association every year and we have walked as much as possible. After all I went through and the wrong diagnoses. Iam finally doing well. I tell every woman I know that they should listen to their bodies. I went too long and almost didnt make it. Heart disease kills more women than breast cancer alone. We must listen to our bodies and advocate for better health care. my condition is genetic and we do have other family members with heart issues. But they are not life threatening.I now eat healthier and exercise more. Iam not taking nay chances with this new heart. So please ladies listen
