Hi my name is Cathy and this is my story.. On April 9th I went to Fla to visit my snow bird parents with my sister and her family. We had a great week on Friday the 16th I woke briefly around 6:45 am; I noticed a slight pain in my jaw, I went back to sleep not thinking too much of it and went back to sleep. When I woke a few hours later the slight pain was gone and forgotten. Our family decided to go to the beach for the day. The beach was hot and we were careless and did not bring water, my sister and I decided to take a walk down the beach to purchase water. As we were walking I felt notably tired, when we arrived at our destination I left my sister for a moment to use the ladies room,as i walked through the door of the Women's bathroom I felt a quick sharp pain in the center of my back between my shoulder blades, the slight pain and the slight pain in my jaw returned. This lasted approx. 60 seconds and was gone. I knew I had experienced something significant however since it was gone I shrugged it off. My sister and i walked back down the beach when we reached our chairs I sat down and once again the pain stabbed me in the back....this pain continued briefly on and off through out the day until early evening when it became stronger lasted longer and was accompanied by vomiting. Finally the pain came full force remaining strongly in my back, my Mom and Brother in law took me to the hospital. When i arrived my blood pressure was 190/170 and I was in stroke Zone. The end result I had a Heart attack. I had to have a STENT put into my arteries and I am know living with Coronary Artery Disease. It has been a struggle to be on medication that I never took prior, I am currently attending cardiac rehab and fiercely fighting a 15 lb weight gain. I have learned to not take advantage of even one moment...my second heart attack came while having the catherization to put in my STENT.
