Joan' Story

My dad,my Hero , died 5 years ago. He had went into the hospital with a blockage and had stints put in. A few years later he had to have a quadruple bypass surgery. Then later a pace-maker and defibrillator. I talked to him the morning he was going home from his surgery 3 days later. He was laughing and joking and in good spirits. We were on our way to my middle sons College graduation 31/2 hours away and I told him I would see him when we got home. About an hour after getting there I got a call from my brother telling me to get home. They were taking dad to the hospital. He had gotten as far as the driveway and had a massive heart attack getting out of the car. That was the longest drive of my life. I got the last call not even half way home. Dad did not make it. He was gone before they got him there.I had to see my dad at the funeral home after they had already been working on him. I don’t want my boys to go through the same horror I did. I am 52 years old and have been diagnosed as being obese. I work 50 hours a week in a factory but I can’t seem to get my head wrapped around eating properly. I know I need to for my kids but everything I try fails. I hope someone out there can give me the support I need. Thanks.
