Melinda's Story

I woke one day getting ready to go to work and just as I was getting ready to leave the phone rang, it was my dad. My mom had been taken to the hospital, she had collapsed  When I got to the hospital she was already in surgery and I wasn't able to see her. When the doctor was finished he came out and said that all went well. Well all hadn't went well because a couple of days later we found out when she didn't wake up that she had 24 major strokes and so many little ones that she would never wake up again. We decided to take her off of life support the following day which was my dads birthday so I knew she wouldn't die that day and she didn't. I was actually 55 hours later. She died of an aortic dissection.
