Angela's Story

Back in March I started having some pain and ended up going to the ER, however, after my EKG and stress test came back normal I was sent home. However, I returned only 4 days later but this time it was "the real deal"! Yes, at 42 years old, I suffered a heart attack and had 3 stints put in! Everyone, including the doctors, were surprise b/c of "passing" the recent tests and b/c of being a young, non-smoking, woman who had normal cholesterol  had never had high BP, was not obese, and was not diabetic. The two things I did have, however, were stress (mostly due to my job) and genetics. Not much we can do about genetics but stress is another story. I really thought that even though I had a lot of stress at work that I was just too young! I know now, obviously,heart disease does not discriminate by age! It can happen to anyone!
