Women: Your heart attack may look different

Women's heart attack symptoms are not always the same. Women have a longer lists of symptoms that doesn't always include chest pain. Women should call 911 immediately if they experience any of these symptoms of a heart attack:

  • Pain or pressure in the lower chest or upper abdomen
  • Jaw, neck, or upper back pain
  • Nausea or vomiting, shortness of breath
  • Fainting, indigestion, extreme fatigue
