Apply to be a part of the 2024 Real Women Class of Survivors!
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women and affects nearly 45% of women ages 20 and older. But too many women, particularly our youngest, most diverse women, remain unaware.
The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women® Real Women Class of Survivors aims to change that by putting a relatable face on heart disease and stroke. These everyday women, just like you, are national volunteers selected to represent a diverse sisterhood of survivors, who actively, urgently and passionately champion the Go Red for Women movement. Representing a wide variety of ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds, the annual class share their powerful stories to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower other women to take action to improve their physical and mental well-being.
Life is measured by ages, stages, and seasons. As the milestones of a woman’s life change, so do her risks for developing cardiovascular disease. Typically the surprising faces of cardiovascular disease, the Real Women Class of Survivors’ stories reflect the unique life stages that women face that can affect their risk.
Starting in February 2024, when the class is launched externally, these dynamic women will serve as ambassadors for Go Red for Women, appearing in media, marketing collateral, awareness campaigns, on the web, and at events, both locally and nationally.
The application submissions are now closed. Thanks to all that applied to be part of Go Red for Women’s 2024 Real Women Class of Survivors.
