My grandmother, we call Grama, was diagnosed a few years ago with heart trouble. She went in to get a stint put in and they came out after an hour to say that she had the “widow maker” and that they would have to do a bypass. She ended up also getting a pacemaker. She is diabetic and over 80 and every surgery she undertakes, she has problems afterward. This year, I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure, sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. These are all signs of heart failure issues which was news to me when I recently went in to my doctor’s office. It has put me on a path to help get the word out.
