Deborah's Story

Last November I fell extremely ill with an infection that started under my arm pit. I did not know how or why it started and the Doctor’s were baffled as well. We figured it may have been from a spider bite. I had to go to the emergency as I was told I was talking to myself and had bad pain and swelling in my right breast. Upon being admitted, I had five operations within a 48 hr. time frame so all the infection could be taken out, unfortunately it was Mersa and half of my breast was removed. Recovery went well, but, by losing just half of my breast had taken a toll mentally. I feel grateful as it could have been much worse. I didn’t have cancer and the whole breast wasn’t taken. I am alive and trying to get use to the ordeal. Time heels all wounds, no matter what kind. Just because I have half a breast does not make me half a woman. God be with all of you that has had similar (and worse) circumstances. We are all here for you!!!
