HeartHero

Bringing an affordable, portable AED to consumers

How it started
We know that defibrillation saves lives. The greatest factor in the chance of survival from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is time. This is proven by the efficacy of implantable defibrillators. By creating an affordable and portable AED (Automated External Defibrillator), we’re making more AEDs available should an SCA occur. We’re also working to change treatment protocols and how to address patients who are at greater risk of SCA.

The HeartHero team is made up of seasoned professionals who have spent nearly a decade working specifically within the AED space. We understand that SCA is a true epidemic and that the community needs more education to improve outcomes.
Our end goal is to save lives. We want to empower the person that typically gets overlooked in the current AED environment — the family member at home. Allowing AEDs to be affordable and in homes simply will save more lives.

How it works
Through science and technology, we’ve developed Elliot, a next-generation, industry-disrupting, ultra-portable AED device that integrates with the consumer's lifestyle:

  • Easy to Use – features easy operation with visual prompts, AI and a companion app, and is powered by common, store-bought batteries
  • Affordable – with the goal of “life before profit,” our AED will be significantly less expensive than current models

  • Portable – weighs just over a pound and is small enough to slip in a purse

By creating the world’s first truly affordable and portable AED, we will help more communities, businesses and consumers to own one.

What’s next
Our program can continue to scale as the demand and education behind the technology continues to increase.

What’s needed
Additional funding for marketing and connections to health focused organizations.
